Volunteer Opps - Internal

Share Your Zoom Expertise

Have you gotten really good at running the controls on Zoom meetings? Have you helped with a Zoom webinar? If the answer to these questions is yes, and you have an hour or two a few times a year that you’re willing to volunteer, we’d love to hear from you. Please reach out for more information. Don’t worry. We won’t rope you into anything you don’t want to do.

In-Person Reunion & Orientation and Virtual Orientation Coming Soon

Yes, the rumors are true. We are, in fact, planning our first in-person gathering since March of 2020! Save these dates and stay tuned to your Member Updates for more information. What we can tell you right now is that you’re welcome whether you are a new or returning member and we will have limited space for the in-person event due to the pandemic and our desire to do our part to keep everyone safe.

The Grants Steering Committee is in full swing!

The Grants Steering Committee is a big deal in ninety-nine girlfriends. It’s one of our largest committees, made up of many teams (Outreach, Intake, Grant Review, Financial Review, Voting, and Impact/Liaisons), and it provides numerous volunteer opportunities while doing really important grantmaking work. Here is just a taste of what is going on with this awesome committee of Girlfriends.

Help Us Rebuild Our Events Team

Our intention (and hope) is to begin offering in-person events after membership closes on April 23, when safe for members and appropriate for our organization. To do this, we will need volunteers so that we can put an Events Team/Committee back in place. Kind of like getting the band back together.

Do you like to seek out venues, manage hospitality, and find fun decor while collaborating with the committee responsible for the content of the event? If so, then this volunteer opportunity may be right up your alley.

Please email us if you’re interested in learning more about this fun opportunity. It doesn't involve a lot of your time but is a great way to meet other girlfriends and contribute to our collective.

Want to Become an Impact Partner Liaison?

Ninety-nine girlfriends provides ongoing support to our impact partners throughout their grant period via our liaison team. Liaisons are a vital link between our membership and our impact partners, playing a critical role as ambassadors, advocates, and allies. We are currently recruiting for members to serve as liaisons for the incoming cohort of impact partners. Are you someone who loves being in conversation with new people, building connections, and gathering and sharing information? This could be a great outlet for you to represent ninety-nine girlfriends and work directly with our impact partners! For more information, contact Van, Impact Team Lead.

Contribute To Our Social Media Campaign

If you’re on social media you may have seen our “Why I came… Why I stayed…” campaign or our love and magic campaign. We’d love to have more submissions coming through our membership deadline. Is this a way you can contribute to our collective membership recruitment? If so, send a photo and your response to one of the following prompts to Tammy (along with your social media handles) and we’ll get you in the queue! Social media is only as good as its content so help us rock it with your submission.

ninety-nine girlfriends Plans In-person Events for 2022

With fingers and toes crossed, we are hopeful that things will continue to improve in the pandemic and we may be able to offer some in-person events in 2022! Stay tuned to your Member Updates for more info as things develop, and let us know if YOU are interested in joining the Events Team to help us create opportunities for our members to gather in person - in case you forgot, that is part of the magic of ninety-nine girlfriends!

Help Embed Racial Equity in All That We Do

The Racial Equity Committee is seeking members to help us embed racial equity in all that we do by being integrated with our Coordinating Council and collaborating with all of the other committees to systemically embed practices that encourage equity and inclusion. If you read these volunteer expectations and would like to learn more, please contact Tammy.

Join Our Member Education Committee and Plan for a Year of Learning Together

Work together to build the content for our signature learning events based on our annual learning question. Help organize and implement the programs and engage members in sharing their expertise for the benefit of our collective. Sound like something you’d like to help with? Contact Jayni Kosoff, our Member Education Co-chair, for more details.

Join the Communications Committee to Help Keep Us Connected

The Communications Committee is looking for Girlfriends to help keep members and the community at large up to date on events and news about our philanthropic efforts and grantee partners. Is graphic design your speciality? Help us look good while we get the word out! Have connections with local news outlets? We’d love to chat PR! Do you have social media skills? We got just the gig for you! If any of this sparks your interest, contact Sammy for more details.

Join Our Membership Committee and Help Gear Up for 2022!

The Membership Committee oversees recruitment and retention. Although we all do our part to recruit new members, Membership is responsible for organizing World Cafes and guiding all of the committees in recruitment and retention. One exciting thing Membership will be working on this year is developing new and creative approaches to attract a diverse new group of members. Another really important thing Membership will be doing this year is finding ways to help retain existing members. Sound like something you’d like to help with? Contact Kaye O’Kearney, our Membership Committee Co-Chair, to express interest. More detailed information for the opening as a co-chair of this committee can be found here.

Join the Impact Team as Liaison Coordinator

Member Liaisons play a very important role in the trust-based philanthropy tenet of support beyond the check. They help us build relationships with our grantee partners and are a conduit of information between the partner organization and ninety-nine girlfriends. The Liaison Coordinator helps coordinate the Member Liaisons and keeps them connected to one another and to the organization as a whole. If you think you would be a good fit for this position, please review the description below and contact Van with questions or to express your interest.

Learn More About the Governing Board

We seek individuals who bring to our governing structure commitment to and understanding of our mission, diversity, and commitment to integrating racial equity in our collective action.

Join the Communications Committee

We are seeking a Social Media Manager who is passionate about collecting and creating content for our ninety-nine girlfriends social media accounts. The member holding this position will be part of the Communications Committee.
