equity & inclusion statement
Ninety-nine girlfriends is committed to embedding equity in all that we do. We recognize that systems in our society were built to benefit people with privilege and power, and grantmaking foundations have predominantly funded white-led organizations. We acknowledge these inequities are still pervasive in philanthropy and we are committed to doing our part to dismantle systems of injustice in our organization and community.
Ninety-nine girlfriends will shift practices and behaviors that perpetuate power imbalances. As an inclusive women’s* collective, we will continue to learn together to confront personal biases and support each other as we grow. Through our grantmaking, we will attempt to amplify a broad range of perspectives that reflect the full diversity of our community (Clackamas, Clark, Multnomah, and Washington counties). We welcome community leaders, partners, and members who offer diverse perspectives, expertise, and ideas to help us become a more informed, equitable, and inclusive organization.
* We welcome cisgender women, transgender women, and anyone who defines their gender experience by their alignment with womanhood.
