Meet the Finalists, one of our most important and inspiring events of the year, is just around the corner. This year it will be virtual (again) but the format will be a little different.
Co-Lead the Intake Team
The Grants Steering Committee (GSC) is seeking an Intake Team Co-Lead who will help manage the Intake process and coordinate with Grant and Financial Review Teams.
Contact Holly Cook with questions or to express interest in volunteering for this role.
Register for Meet the Finalists
This is a wonderful opportunity to hear directly from the finalists being considered for this year’s funding. Voting begins at the conclusion of this virtual event held on October 24.
Join Our TBP + Grantee Partner Convening
On September 19, come learn more about how we are applying trust-based philanthropy (TBP) in our grant making and about our grantee partners and their work. This is a great opportunity to learn more about things to consider when voting and to hear directly from our current grantee partners about the impact of trust-based philanthropy and our awards.
Our 2021 Award Semi-Finalists
The Grants Steering Committee and the 57 members of the 2021 Grant Review Teams are delighted to announce our 22 semi-finalists, chosen from among the 151 grant applications that ninety-nine girlfriends received in May. Our Grant Review Teams are presenting organizations that inspire them and address our 2021 Funding Priority and Guiding Principles.
Next, the teams will select ten finalists for consideration and member vote for this year’s five $90,000 Impact Awards. The five finalists that aren’t selected for Impact Awards will each receive $5,000 Finalist Awards.

Read: Changing grantmaking practices and honesty in grant reports articles
As we near our “grant making season”, our Grant Steering Committee co-chairs Holly and Tammy share two short reads. Each has a very different style and each has a very important message:
Building a Movement for Courageous Practice Change in Philanthropy from the Center for Effective Philanthropy
Answers on grant reports if nonprofits were brutally honest with funders from Vu Le’s blog
