The African American Ladies of Lake Oswego. and Surrounding Areas, Respond to Racism, L.O. for Love and the Lake Oswego Library team have put together an outstanding program for Black History Month. The activities are available at www.lopl.org/bhm. Download the Black History Passport and find all the new books and activities for every age group and storytime for children. This year they made an extra effort to highlight Black inventors and scientists, using the website founded by Quintard Taylor of Seattle WA: https://www.blackpast.org/?s=Black+inventors

To view the list of Black-owned businesses, go to www.respondtoracism.org. At the bottom of the passport, you will be able to make your suggestions to add for next year. Feel free to share these resources with friends, family, schools and your local libraries.

Ninety-nine girlfriends is a member of Philanos and this helps us learn from tested models and share what we’ve learned with other women’s collective giving circles across the nation. It’s the collective for collectives!

Attend: We Give Summit 2021

The We Give Summit 2021 is a virtual month-long event in May to celebrate everyday givers with virtual presentations, interactive sessions and online networking! Speakers share info, experiences and inspiration about many aspects of the collective giving movement. Each week has a different theme: Be Together, Learn Together, Grow Together, Dream Together. This international celebration of collective giving circles continues through May 27. A full access pass costs $50 after the first week – Register and jump in!

In honor of Black History Month, Michelle Hynes shared 28 Days of Black History, a virtual exhibition of 28 works that celebrate Black legacy in the U.S. This exhibition centers the voices of Black LGBTQ leaders and Black leaders with disabilities often diminished in our nation’s history.
