KairosPDX Investment Council
Overview
The KairosPDX Investment council will be exclusively focused on increasing the number of investors and supporters of KairosPDX both currently and as it grows into the future. These activities include but are not limited to the Annual Fund ($2 million currently) and Planned Giving program as well as the establishment and continued growth of an initial Endowed Fund for investors interested in the scale and growth of KairosPDX.
Commitment
Meetings Offsite, monthly, primarily in a downtown venue. Preparatory work (planning, research, meetings/calls, etc.) necessary to fulfill each meeting’s action plan is expected to be done between meetings as/if/when needed.
Scope of Work
The Investment Council (IC) empowers the enduring vibrancy of Kairos by leading the vital fundraising efforts that underwrite the dream.
IC officers commit to attending at least 10 monthly meetings per year. Given the competitive nature of fundraising, we succeed through innovation, creativity, collaboration and commitment.
IC directors are welcome/expected to bringing fresh eyes & new ideas to this crucial development work.
IC Officers commit to completing preparatory research/work/ meetings/calls between monthly council meetings as needed to accomplish goals within the deadlines given.
IC Officers report to the Executive Director. They will also work with the Chair and Vice Chair of the Governing Board as well as the Finance and Facilities Committees.
IC Officers Accomplish Governing Board investment goals through 3 main mechanisms:
o Stewarding major investors through personal or written/verbal outreach, coffee/lunches & major events.
o Serving on Host Committee to annual gala. (Only need 5-7 people to do so)
o Initiating and growing an Endowment Fund.
IC Officers can also give advice to revenue-generating business ideas of KairosPDX.
