Grant Review Team Results Are In!

Some exciting news as summer moves into fall! The 2022 Grants Steering Committee and Grant Review Teams (“GRTs”) are delighted to announce that 20 semifinalists have been chosen from among the 131 grant applications that ninety-nine girlfriends received in June. Our GRTs have worked really hard to advance organizations that inspire them and align with our 2022 Funding Priority and Guiding Principles.

We owe deep thanks to our GRTs for the commitment of time and energy they put into this process as well as their focus on equitable grant making and mindful, collaborative decision making.

Special thanks to Ramona Cahn, Megan Leftwich and Barbara Long, GRT Coordinators, for their guidance and support of these invaluable volunteers. And a hat tip to our dedicated Outreach and Intake teams for their time and talents getting us to this point in the process.

Next, the Grant Review Teams will take a deeper dive into the semifinalist organizations while the Financial Review Team digs into our semifinalists’ finance and governance backgrounds to assess each group’s capacity to manage a large grant. GRTs are well on their way to selecting 10 finalists, to be announced Saturday, October 29, for consideration for this year’s $70,000 Impact Awards. The five finalists that aren’t selected for Impact Awards will each receive $15,000 Finalist Awards.

Save the date for Meet the Finalists on November 17, 2022, 6-7:30 pm. This is typically our best-attended and most energizing event of the year and we’re determined to keep the tradition. Although we were hopeful that we could gather in our pre-COVID way, we will be presenting Meet the Finalists virtually again this year and are using the input of our Impact Partners (past Impact Award recipients) to make this year's event even better. You’ll get to know the finalists for this year’s Impact Awards in our fabulous Voters’ Guide. Stay tuned for more to come!

Meet the Finalists will kick off our membership voting period. Ninety-nine girlfriends membership will vote to choose this year’s five $70,000 Impact Awards winners and five $15,000 Finalist Award winners. This list of semifinalists will be posted on our website in the coming days. All semifinalists that don't advance to the next round will receive a recognition gift of $2,500.
