In our first years as a collective giving circle, we introduced core concepts about social change, community, and philanthropy to help frame our collective action. Members have asked us to share the takeaways from our first years' workshops and forums so all of us have these ideas in mind. Enter "Women Power and Giving: The Recap" an interactive, information-filled, and fun way to learn and share with other girlfriends before our voting season. These “salons” to be held on Sunday afternoons in October 4:30-6:00 PM. Time for education, interaction, Q&A, and collective thinking about what drives our giving. Session One: Understanding Social Change

Learn about different types of social change and strategies to advance social change. Which strategies are you currently supporting? Which might you consider in the future? Find out more about vehicles for giving - from direct contributions to planned giving. Take the giving wizard quiz and find out which giving vehicles attract you.

Session Two: The Landscape of Philanthropy in Our Region

This interactive session provides a review of the current realities and scope of our local nonprofit sector. Learn about key trends and challenges of 21st-century philanthropy and what our region's philanthropy ecosystem is like. Find out more about our region's bright spots and challenges making impact in the five focus areas that ninety-nine girlfriends funds. What do you think about the current issues facing the social sector?

Session Three: Leveraging Our Resources
October 20, 2019 4:30-6 pm
Find out how grantmakers (and ninety-nine girlfriends in particular) evaluate the impact of our investments in our partners. Test your skills at sketching a "Logic model." Learn more about what our grantee partners have done with our funds. Participate in a lively discussion of ways each of us can engage individually to make a difference in our communities - through board service, public service, advocacy and more.
