Bradley Angle serves anyone affected by domestic violence. We value the dignity and personal story of everyone who comes to us for support, and respect that survivors should have control over their own lives.
There’s a lot going on at Bradley Angle. Renovating the Bonnie Tinker shelter is a big project for the organization, as the facility was long overdue for updates. They have worked to make trauma-informed upgrades, prioritizing the shared spaces, and are raising additional funds for the phase-two upgrades to the other areas of the facility.
Their Healing Roots & Kinship Programs offer support for Black/African American survivors and their children through two branches of work: Healing Roots offers survivors a safe space and access to resources that promote healing and connection as well as transitional short-term housing. Kinship is a youth program that addresses the impacts of intergenerational trauma experienced by the children of Healing Roots participants, providing resources such as support groups, martial arts therapy, and a monthly family outing. One mentor started a manhood project that brings together young men in dialogue to develop self-esteem and learn about healthy relationships
Bradley Angle offers many other services, including an exciting change to its Housing Assistance Program for survivors of domestic violence. Currently it pays 80% of rent costs for survivors with the remaining 20% paid by the survivor living in the housing unit. This year, they were successful in securing funding to cover the 20% to make it possible for the survivor to put their 20% into a savings account. This means that when they transition from the housing program they have some financial capacity.
